"Red,White & Blue" is the series of three, and an oil painting that is covered in feathers! Bluebirds are one of Ms. Simon's favorite birds. Growing up her Father used to feed the birds daily. When a blue bird visited they perched themselves out side the window to feast on their favorite... mealworms! Her father would announce the arrival like it was a vibrant Queen entering a banquet hall! Her father has lined his land with special blue bird boxes in hopes to have the feathered royalty take up home making there. New offspring of the most beautiful royal blue plumage, would be a blessing as these birds' numbers have declined substantially during the last century. Blue Birds are Ms. Simon's state bird of New York where they are viewed in a many back yards and parks, singing a distinctive song that many hear as “chur-lee, chur-lee.” You may not be able to hear them but wouldn't you like to enjoy them every day with this print "Blue"?
Art played a big role for Ms. Simon very early on in her life. Linda made use to all that was offered in High School, she took Mechanical drawing, a two year trade school commercial art program, and almost triple majored in Art. Her artist influences include Norman Rockwell, Edgar Degas, Renoir and Nicolas Poussin's "Adoration of the Shepherds". Linda has quality, Contemporary Fine Art based on the enduring aesthetic principles of the old masters, using faces of her family, pets, and dear friends holding hints of Linda's life. Ms. Simon works predominately in non-traditional oils(non-toxic), incorporating pure pigments in her glazing, she also is accomplished in paper mach, clay, charcoal, color pencil, scratch board, pastels, ceramics,...
